Mr. Tony Stark and his Alter Ego

In week four of Emma's sew along I sewed a huge market bag. The pattern "Markttasche" is again taken from the CD "Taschenspieler II" from "farbenmix". I changed some details on this bag.

* On the outer pocket I used some freezer paper to print a golden Tony Stark aka Iron Man on it
* I cut the outer pocket twice to sew a tube so I don't need any woven ribbon on the side of this pocket
* The pocket is closed with a magnet, sadly mine is not so strong  (you can see the tutorial at the end of this post)
* To close the market bag I attached a drawstring
* Inside the bag I sewed a little zipper pocket
* The handles are sewed through all layers for more stability

A little tutorial to make a magnetic fastener

There migth be an easyer way, but this is how I did it. ;o)

Here we go:
You need your outer pocket and a little magnet. The magnet I used is a promotional gift. I cut the magnet to have some smaller stripes. The pleats of the pocket are already ironed.

°°°°°°°°°°°

Put the magnet on the pocket to mark the middle with a pin (there is no pin on this photo)

 °°°°°°°°°°

Stitch a seam close to the edge and place your magnet under the seam in the marked middle.

°°°°°°°°°°
Here you see that the fold back clip holds the magnet. Sew very close under the magnet and than again right and left from the magnet. You can feel the magnet while you sew. ;o)

 °°°°°°°°°°
Mark the postion of the counterpart with the help of the already sewed in magnet.

°°°°°°°°°°

Put the magnet under the mark into the tube and sew a rectangle around the magnet.

You're done!

Quick and Easy

I made a keyring. It's not sensational. I sewed a woven ribbon on a felt strip and attached a blank key chain. That's all !

Gamers rule the World

I sewed a bag that gamers like. I have modified some things on this bag. The original pattern "Multitasche" is taken from the CD "Taschenspieler" provided by farbenmix. I wanted to sew the bag for my husband who is kind of a gamer. My changes to the pattern are:

* I sewed a strip on the sides -> the bag has more space inside
* I attached the handle on the side strip
* The handles are angled to the back side
* On the backside I added another pocket

And again I used some frezzer paper to print the "Steam" logo on the front side.

Emma has initiated a sew along. This time I wanted to be part of it. The patterns are from the brand new CD called "Taschenspieler II" from farbenmix.
Week one started with a clutch. Quite easy to sew ;o)

I used some freezer paper to print a sherlock holmes silhouette on the clutch.

It's Done

I finished my king size blanket. The final measurements of this blanket are 2.60 m x 1.25 m. For this blanket I used two  quilt packages from Buttinette and cut it in stripes. The back of the blanket is fleece fabric.
